Pottsgrove School District is excited to announce the appointment of  Dr. Gregory Puckett as the next Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Puckett was board approved on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. The Board selected Dr. Puckett during an in depth search process coordinated by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA).  With more than 18 years of administrative experience in public education, Dr. Puckett brings a strong background in educational leadership, student achievement, communication, and relationship-building. The school calendars for the 2026-2027 school year were originally approved in the spring of 2025. The calendars were recently reviewed again during the Spring 2026 Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology Committee meeting to ensure all dates aligned appropriately for the upcoming school year. Following this review, adjustments were made regarding professional learning days for staff and the first day of school for students.

Important Updates:

• The first student day will now be Thursday, August 27, 2026. Wednesday, August 26, 2026, was originally scheduled as the first student day.  
• Wednesday, March 24, 2027, was originally scheduled as a professional learning day for staff.  The professional learning day has been moved to Wednesday, August 26, 2026.  Wednesday, March 24, 2027, will now be a student day.
• Thursday, March 25, 2027, is a holiday; however, will be used as a snow make up day #1, if necessary. 
• Monday, March 29, 2027, is a holiday; however, will be used as a snow make up day #2, if necessary.

We are excited to share an incredible donation to our Middle School Technology Education program!

Mrs. Yergey received an xTool F2 Ultra Laser Engraver and AP2 Air Purifier for her classroom from the 1% For the Makers xTool Program—one of only 62 schools and nonprofits worldwide selected for this opportunity so far!

After working with an older model laser engraver in her classes, Mrs. Yergey applied for this program to expand access to innovative and creative tools for our students. This award recognizes the impact of her program, especially the focus on hands-on learning, real-world skills, and reaching a wide range of students.

U.S. News & World Report released its 2025–26 Best Middle Schools list, and for the second year in a row, Pottsgrove Middle School has been recognized as one of the top middle schools in Pennsylvania coming in at #274, remaining in the top 40%! 

This achievement is a reflection of the dedication of our students, teachers, staff, and families, each committed to our mission to educate, engage, and empower every student, every day.

Pottsgrove School District has once again been recognized by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) as one of the Best Communities for Music Education in the nation! This is Pottsgrove's 6th year receiving the award and we were one of 700 districts across the country to receive it.

This incredible honor reflects the dedication and passion of our music teachers and the talent of our students. We couldn’t be more proud of our music program!
